Silicon Targets for PLD Experiments
A research lab manager requested the following:
You have sent us the quotation for the wafers which will be used as a
substrates in the PLD experiments and now we are looking for silicon disc
which will be used as a target, so any specification you may have that we can look at will be very much appreciated.
As I indicated on my previous emails that we also needs a thicker wafer,
could you possibly replace one item (ID: 1317, D.: 100mm P/B (100) 1-20
ohm-cm 1000um) with (ID: 1967, Diam.:200mm, P/B,(110) R: 0.25-0.6 ohm-cm,
thickness: 1450-1530um)and send us the updated quotation, please?

Silicon Discs to Fabricate Dies
A graduate student requested the following quote:
Actually, electronic specs of silicon is not important for me, because I want to use silicon as die for forming. I only need silicon with more than 1 mm thickness and 3 to 5 mm diameter. Do you have such kinds of silicon disc and how much is the price? if no can you please guide me where can I buy such kind of Silicon dies?
UniversityWafer, Inc. Quoted:
We have Diam3mm rod in hand, see our quotation below:
Si Die
Size: Diam3+/-0.1x1.2mm thickplanarization (CMP) polishing process. Certificate #PO-6700 for the process capability is available on request.

Silicon Disc Defined
Not to be confused with silicone, which is rubber! A silicon disc is a round-shaped object made primarily of silicon, a chemical element commonly used in the electronics industry. Silicon is known for its semiconductor properties, making it an essential material in producing various electronic devices.
In data storage, a silicon disc can also refer to a silicon-based storage medium. It is typically a small, flat disc-like structure that can store information digitally. These discs are often used for long-term data archiving, similar to standard optical discs (such as CDs and DVDs).
Silicon data storage discs differ from standard optical discs in terms of storage capacity and durability. They can store much larger data and are more resistant to environmental factors, such as moisture or physical damage. Silicon discs can be a promising solution for long-term data preservation and archival purposes.
Pure Silicon for X-Ray Applications
A doctoral student requested the following quote:
We are looking for pure silicon wafer material, no dopant. 0.050" thick. We are making these into 1.870" +.000"/-.010" diameter disc for use in an x-ray application. Material to be 0.100" +/- .010" thick. Do you have sheets/ diameters that we can process into these sizes or can you provide complete?
Not sure. Our customer who we are making the product for just stated a pure silicon, no dopant. They are using it along with Fe and Sn discs to shield X-ray if that helps.
Quantities if you can make complete would be 5-10. Once production gets going we’d be looking at about 20-50 per month for a year or so at the very least.
Size: 1.870” +.000”/-.010” with .050 thickness +/-.010
UniversityWafer, Inc. Quoted:Pls see below for our offer on 0.05'' thick pure and complete Silicon disc.
